The International Potato Center, known as CIP (for its name in Spanish, Centro Internacional de la Papa), is the worlds leading center of research on potatoes and related plants. It is situated in La Molina, Peru, near the capital in Lima. Along with first-rate research into the forces that help potatoes grow, as well as the pests and diseases that harm them, CIP produces nice graphics. These two pictures, one of the white potato and the other of the sweet potato (which CIP scientists call “sweetpotato”), were intended as posters. In the posters larger sizes, the labels on the plants various sections (the flower, fruit, and tubers) are clearly visible. You can see the posters by clicking on the thumbnail pictures below. The pictures are large, and downloading will take a while on slower Internet connections. The pictures are used by permission of the International Potato Center, which you may want to visit on the Web.
