In the second round of the second qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup in Asia, Vietnam Tel will host Australia at My Dinh home, on the day VAR technology first appeared in Vietnam. Besides the excitement, the information about the referee team controlling the match brought anxiety.

Accordingly, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has just appointed referee Khamis Mohammed Al Marri as the person in charge of VAR technology in the Vietnam – Australia match. Notably, this Qatari black-shirted king is the “evil” of coach Park Hang Seo’s teachers and students.

Specifically, referee Khamis received a harsh reaction when he stripped Van Toan’s goal in the 0-0 draw between Vietnam and host Myanmar in the group stage of the AFF Cup 2018. During the match, Quang Hai, Van had many times in the match. Germany was fouled, but the umpire did not issue a warning card.

Referee Khamis is the “crystal” of many Vietnamese players

Meanwhile, the main catcher of the match between Vietnam and Australia on September 7 will be referee Abdulrahman Ibrahim. He is also a familiar figure with Vietnamese football when he once held the whistle for the 2-3 loss of the “Golden Star Warriors” to Iraq in the group stage of the Asian Cup 2019.

Referee Abdulrahman pulled out a warning card for Trong Hoang in the first minute of the game and Quang Hai got a card for 18 minutes. In this match, Cong Phuong scored 1 goal, the other goal was scored by an own goal by Iraqi players.

Currently, Vietnam Tel is actively preparing for the opening match of the third qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup as a guest against Saudi Arabia on September 2, before returning to My Dinh to welcome Australia at 19:00 on September 7.
